Personal highlights for her so this year, such as being hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to accompany him onstage at the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has maintained a steady songwriting routine despite the whirlwind of the past few years. As a producer magnet, Niykee is constantly looking through beats being sent to her. She has found that the majority of them spark new songs. She claims that she is able to determine if the beat is great in only 5 seconds. And then, a brand new track will come into her brain. While I play the guitar on my front porch, words start to flow. A majority times, it's completed in just about 30 minutes. Niykee keeps working on her abilities as a poet and lyrics writer. She says that the pain she experienced through the years can be a sources of ideas. The pain I felt growing up as well as losing my younger sister is still reflected in my lyrics, even if they're not exactly literal. It influences my music and provides it with a deeper sense of meaning that I believe is extremely important. I want to be able to hear my songs in 20 years and still feel proud about the things I've written.
