Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter. There are more than 20 albums. DiFranco's songs are classified as alternative and folk. But, they are influenced by hip-hop music, jazz, and punk. A feminist icon widely recognized as Grammy winner Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement being one of the pioneers to establish her own record label in 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship at their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian ancestry and her mom was a Montreal native. Ani diFranco wrote and performed the track 32 Flavors. The song is featured on her sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. A variation of the track is included on the movie soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. In 2013, DiFranco apologised after it was revealed that she would be hosting a three-day workshop at the former Louisiana slave plantation. The workshop was cancelled, but many (including this paper) did not show any remorse. DiFranco issued an additional apology a couple of weeks after. While she is known for her role as Little Peoplesinger, she has been in contact with a myriad of musicians and artists, from Pete Seeger through Chuck D all the way to Prince. New Orleans is her home. Ani diFranco and Kristen Ford are together. At 14, she began writing her own songs. They were performed in coffeehouses and bars through her teenage years. DiFranco completed her studies at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school at 16, and enrolled in courses at Buffalo State College. Ani's customized Alvarez baritone came about after numerous consultations with Chrys Johnson who was the artist representative for Alvarez. This guitar is built of solid wood, with an ebony top and cedar sides. It also has an System 600 Preamp. The home she lives in is New Orleans. There she lives with husband, children as well as her long-legged companion Lefty. Three decades deep into her professional career DiFranco confesses to having different feelings when looking into the rearview. Punk/folk singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco ascended to musical hero recognition at age 25 in the eyes of both her fans and critics after her seventh studio album Not A Pretty Girl in 1995, and later had a bigger success through Dilate in 1996. From her debut album Looking Glass, Brandy is a 1972 American pop rock song. The song was composed by Looking Glass lead guitarist and co-vocalist Elliot Lurie.
