Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a British-Nigerian mixed race child, was born to an ethnically diverse family from South London. She has a father who is Nigerian as well as Swiss, while her mom is English. She was raised in the south London Council Estate. She attended The Brit School aged 14. She graduated with a BA in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She appeared in many stage productions during her college days, such as the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe first began her career as an actor in the movie Storm Damage. In the following years, she appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakout came with 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was in the role of Colin Farrell (who played the part of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. Following that success she was cast as Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside in the role of Ollie. In the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe was a part of the comedy How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe had her official US debut in the 2009 drama series The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character from ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast for her as Ashley Davenport. In May of 2013, it was revealed that Madekwe, who appeared on the show as a series regular for the previous two seasons would be leaving the show after a guest-appearance in the first episode of the season's new episode. She starred as Tituba on the show Salem between 2014 and 2016. From June to July 2012, she was married to her long-time love actor Iddo Goldberg. They both appeared on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred as partners in Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in an extended family. She was born to Patty and Roy Leggat. Her parents were Roy and Patty and four older brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. The brothers of Ashley were extremely athletic and played baseball and hockey during the winter and summer months. They grew up playing the arenas and baseball. Ashley was not a walker, but she danced. At age two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered a love for dancing after she started the Baby Ballet. Ashley was a competitive dancer throughout the various categories until the time she graduated from high school. The competitions she participated in included jazz, tap, ballet and pointe, as well as acrobatics. In addition, she won the top awards for soloists in every major dance contests, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more.
