She describes her growth through therapy, and encourages other people to get assistance when needed. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born July 11, 1996 to parents of Italian descent. Alessia Cara's parents gave her their first guitar when she was 10. This was her beginning musically. A few years later, at 13 she began performing her favourite songs via YouTube one of the biggest media platforms to show the world that she was talented and the determination to be a professional singer. Sweater Weather was her most famous cover. A record label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her write songs.
